Young Human-Specific Genes Correlated With Brain Evolution

Young Human- Specific Genes Correlated With Brain Evolution, was posted on science daily on October 19, 2011. This article clearly states the new studies that have been done on human brains. It was done in a Manyuan Long's laboratory. He is a professor of Ecology and Evolution and has been researching about genes for many years. His new discovery was that old genes are the reason for our brain evolution. Dr. Longs theory is that we originated from primates and that he has proof from the genes.
Even though Manyuans Long's theory is convincing and well thought out I still do not agree that we originated from primates. It is important for people to read this article because it would make them think about how we came to be humans. It might convince many that we did actually come from primates, and it would be a change in there point of view on life. One article can change a persons life very easily, specially if they have the proper information to do so.

MLK Jr. Letter from Birmingham City Jail

Martin Luther King Junior wrote a letter in Birmingham City jail. Martin Luther king was the speaker, he had written the letter on April 16, 1963. He wrote the letter to a newspaper article, but it later on got published to the general public. In the letter he was emotinal and wrote about how violence should be stopped. Martin Luther King Junior was a very inspirational man who wanted to bring peace in America. His letter to the newspaper article was rather long, but descriptive. The reason it was long was because it was written in jail, therefore he had plenty of time. Martin Luther was killed for discussing about black rights, but he is one of the people who had made a difference in the world.

"I Have A Dream"

The Speech "I Have A Dream" was given by Martin Luther King Jr, on the steps of the Lincoln memorial infront of a huge audience on August 28, 1963. His purpose was to demand equality, and his tone was considered demanding and angry. This speech presentation was my favorite because I was already familliar with the King and considered him a very brave man. His subject was civil rights, and in my opinion everyone deserves freedom and rights.
The language of the speech affected me in countless ways, because I consider myself to be a very emotional person. He got the attention of the audience by using rhetorical questions and using the same gramatical structure. He repeats "I have a dream" several times in his speech. His usage of the words caught my attention and I was stunned by it. Martin Luther King is an important person to history, and I am glad to still be learning about him today.

"To Be With the 99%, President Obama Must Fire Tim Geithner"

"To Be With the 99%, President Obama Must Fire Tim Geithner" was published in the Huffington Post in the afternoon of October 20th, 2011 by Dylan Ratigan . This specific article is clearly about political issues and is in relation to Obama. It introduces Obamas past acts and how he has only printed money and had given it to his rich friends. It is stated that our America is considered a "bought government" because of Obama is aparantly denying everyone else of financial legal rights. Obamas spokesperson Tim Geithner had said that his campaign represents the 99% and because of that he has to get fired because of his dishonesty.
This article is generally important to the citizens of America. One must be notified of the political issues that is spreading in our nation. One must know what Obama is doing with money, while we are in an economic crisis. It is important for people to read this article and understand the true issues of our government, and how it is now considered a "bought governemnt."

"Virtues"

In Benjamin Franklins "The Autobiography" he had picked over five virtues, but the five I have picked are Temptation, Silence, Cleanliness, Limit and Order. Temptation- One is always tempted to break rules, for example texting in class, and having a uniform violation. Silence- One should not talk unless spoken too. Cleanliness- When one makes a mess, one shall clean it right after. Limit- When one eats one has to know ones limit. Order- One must have a certain order in ones life to function accordingly.
By making a chart and working on it for about two days I tested myself. I did not text in class, and wore the correct uniform, therefore I controlled my Temptation. Silence is very hard for me to accomplish, considering I get angry and verbally abusive. I kept cleanliness, but cleaning up any mess I made. I ate more then I should have, therefore I had no limit in food. My days were orderly because in those two days I woke up at the same time, went to school, then went home. I felt accomplished working on these virtues for two days, but I feel I could have accomplished more if I had tried harder.
