"Scarlet Letter"
Dimmsdale is a very odd character in the "Scarlet Letter" that I feel sympathy for. He was mysterious in the beginning of the story, but began to branch out as it came to the end. Dimmsdale had made one mistake which was the same as Hesters, and even though she was the one shunned from the community, Dimmsdale was the one in pain. Chillingworth knew who he was, and made him suffer for seven years. "All this was accomplished with a subtlety so perfect, that the minister, though he had constantly a dim perception of some evil influence watching over him, could never gain a knowledge of its actual nature" (Hawthorne 117). This proves that poor Dimmsdale was tortured and basically hunted by evil.

"Thanksgiving as Day to Shop Meets Rejection"
"Thanksgiving as Day to Shop Meets Rejection" is a newspaper article written by Stephanie Clifford on November 10, 2011 in New York times. The article discusses how many chains of stores have now decided to open on midnight. Because business is like a competition some have even decided to open as early as ten pm. The openings of shops this year have crossed the line, eager to have more costumers. Some may look at this in a positive way, but not family members. Because of the early openings most constant black Friday shoppers are forced to leave there thanksgiving dinners early and stand in line for goods. Who opens a store on a holiday like Thanksgiving? Employees have to leave dinner even earlier which is important for fellow Americans to hear. Every person deserves time with his or her family, specially on Thanksgiving.
American Romantic Era
"It may serve, let us hope, to symbolize some sweet moral blossom, that may be found along the track, or relieve the darkening close of a take of human frailty and sorrow." (Hawthorne 44) The paragraph emphasizes the importance of moral values. It explains how one should be a better person and strengthen ones character. During the American Romantic era this is an example of human relations. One had to be kind and mercy-full in order to be a better person.
"We have wronged each other," answered he. "Mine was the first wrong, when I betrayed thy budding youth into a false and unnatural with my decay. Therefore, as a man who has not thought and philosophized in vain, I seek no vengeance, plot no evil against thee. Between thee and he the scale hangs fairly balanced. But Hester, the man lives who has wronged us both! Who is he?" (Hawthrone 69) Hesters husband had entered the cell and said he does not blame her on what had happened. He knows that he is old and they both have a blame in this. He seeks no revenge on her or the child, but on the father of the baby. This is another example of human relations during the American Romantic era. At this time period the romance was not the traditional type, the idea of love was different and understood in a different way.

"Seven Sins" :O
There are seven sins that are considered deadly by the bible. Even though they are very atrocious they are being commited everyday. One of the sins that I am guilty of commiting is "wrath". I get upset easily and get terribly angry without even noticing. My younger relative threw my phone on the floor and that very moment I hit her. I understand it is wrong after I had commited it, because at that moment my wrath takes over me. It is said that when one commits a sin they will be punished for it, but I do not think one will if they do not continue and ask for forgivness. If I was forced to wear the leter W for wrath I honestly would not know what to do, I have not been in that position to make a comment but I would most likely never come out of the house.
"My Dear and Loving Husband"
One of the short poems that we have read and discussed in class was "My Dear and Loving Husband". Anne Bradstreet was the speaker of the poem that wrote a poem to her husband. It was written during the puritan times to explain her love toward her husband. She was very emotional while writing the poem because she discussed her feelings. In my opinion this was not an appropriate piece of literature, because it gave false information considering that during the puritan life, they were very dull and strict. Although it was a very descriptive poem it is not something I would recomend to anyone to read.
