News Article

"Missing Girl's Aunt Speaks Out" was written on CNN news on December 15, 2011 by Nancy Grace. A two year old girl named Bianca has been missing and her aunt had spoken for her on Nancy Grace explaining and giving detail about what has happened. The aunt Kelly Jones describes how her and her family are on a constant search for Bianca and have even set up several organizations. Aparantly Bianca was in the car when the carjack occurred, immediately after the aunt heard she has been praying for the safe return of her niece. The blame is now set on the father since he was their when the abduction occurred. Right now their is only hope for her return.
This article is important for other people to know because this type of kidnapping has occurred countless times. No one is trying to prevent it from happening again, which is my concern. Many kids have gone missing and have never been found or found dead. This type of outrageous horrific scene should be stopped before it even happens. Parents should be cautious of their children, and let other children disappearances be a lesson for them to take better care of their children.

"The Fall of the House of Usher"

The short story "The Fall of the House of Usher" was written by Edgar Allan Poe. The story takes place in a odd looking house with three main characters, the narrator, Mr. Usher and his twin sister. Ushers family was different, they intermarried for hundredth of years, and that disease caught up to them. Somehow Usher was connected to the house, he was weak and old, just like it. Ushers sister had a illness which caused her to be paralyzed for a short time. Without knowing Usher buried his sister, she came out of the grave and went after him. The narrator ran out of the house, as it came falling, air-go the title of the story "The Fall of the House of Usher".
The images that are used to add to the dark and remote area was the fact that the house was old and around decaying trees. The area was ghostly and isolated with only two people living in a huge house. The interior was dark and old, and was like it had never seen the outside world. The idea of it being Gothic was how the story had a dark mood through out the story.

Edgar Allan Poe

Edgar Allan Poe was a talented poet that has become very popular to the public. One of the famous poems he has written is called "The Raven". "The Raven" was a poem mainly about a man who was frightened by a raven. The description was dark and dreary and started during midnight. The narrator gave vivid descriptions and explained his every move. He was afraid of raven, without actually knowing what it was. It was a Gothic piece of literature because of the setting; it takes place in December in a bleak and remote place. There was a scene in the poem discussing the loss of Lenore, and by understanding that loss is never a good thing, it most probably happened violently. There are many supernatural incidence for example, how the Raven could speak. Edgar Allan Poe's writing is much appreciated even during this century and many century's to come.

Newsarticle

"Mother Robin" was written by Kyle Almond on Sunday December 11 11:34 pm on CNN. This article introduced Mrs. Robin Lim as the winner of this years Hero award. She has helped countless Indonesian women have a healthy pregnancy and birth. She had said that everyday over 900 women die from not being able to have a healthy birth, and that we should do something about it. "Every baby's first breath on Earth could be one of peace and love. Every mother should be healthy and strong. Every birth could be safe and loving. But our world is not there yet," Lim said during CNN broadcast.
This article is important and should be read by others because it shows how a simple American would try her best to save others in need. She is an example of what other fellow Americans and other races should be like. I believe one should always help other if they can. Robin Lim is a roll model to many people, and after one reads her story, she would be there role model too.

"Animal Cruelty"

"Animal Cruelty" was written by Jane Velez-Mitchell on December 4, 2011. This article discussed how bad Sparboe egg farm was treating the chickens. They were in unsanitary conditions, and lifeless animal cruelty. Animal cruelty activist sent undercover investigators that documented hens in small cages, found some dead hens near the live ones laying eggs for human consumption. The would tie the hens legs by a string and spin them around, as well as burning off there beaks for fun. All of these eggs are sent to Target, McDonald and other big company's, who have now decided to end there business relationship with Sparboe.

This article came along with a video showing the way the hens were treated. The video was disturbing and hard to watch, specially for animal lovers. This article is important, because its not only harming us, but its harming human consumers who buy those unsanitary products. Americans need to know the truth, and where there eggs are coming from. I for one am against animal cruelty, and love to eat eggs, but not ones that have had dead hens around it.

"Scarlet Letter"

The Scarlet Letter was a book full of an abundant amount of suspense and fiction. My favorite part of the book has to be the scene where Hester was standing in front of the people holding baby pearl in her hand for everyone to see. It was a moment of suspense because Hester was looking out to the people, and saw a man that she knew. The anonymous man put his finger to his mouth showing a sign to Hester so people wont know he knows her. We came into conclusion that it was her husband, who later on changed his name to Chillingworth. This enjoyed this book, and hope to get an A on the test. (get it "A" like the Scarlet letter hahahaha)
