"Speech in the Virginia Convention"

Patrick Henry wrote "Speech in the Virginia Convention" in 1775. He is the speaker who introduces the idea of freedom to the people. Patrick Henry presented his speech to the members of the convention. He uses rhetorical devices in his speech which grasped the attention of the audience. Patrick Henry spoke in a patriotic tone which was appropriate for the listeners. He was also encouraging, due to the fact that he needed to persuade the people to fight for freedom.
Patrick Henry's speech was very persuasive. It is a fact because it was his words that convinced people to go against King George. He knew he was right, and used actual information to explain to the audience why they have to fight. His most famous words were "Give me liberty, or give me death", he gave the audience one choice, and that was to fight for freedom even if it means dieing.

Avocado Ice Cream

Avocado ice cream is probably the most interesting use of avocados. It is unable to track down exactly where this delicious desert was created, but sources lead to California. This fruit is squeezed into perfection with milk, sugar, and eggs for a delightful taste of ice cream. It is not difficult to find, it is even sold in third world countries because of its astonishing taste and texture. Avocado is the absolute best ice cream to eat on a hot summer day. The taste of it is astonishing, and would make anyone who hates avocados love avocado ice cream.
Is avocado suppose to only serve its purpose as a fruit? It is not enough for avocado ice cream to be made in every country, but it should be served in every restaurant. You will love this astounding desert, and will never regret trying it. Avocado is my favorite fruit, and having a variety of ways to eat it is important to me, and makes me feel bewildering. Once you have tasted the amazing avocado ice cream, I guarantee you will never eat another flavor again.

"Mission Update"

"Mission Update" by Steve Squyres was written to inform the world about life on mars. Steve was the speaker that introduced his piece of literature in a blog form. He expresses his emotion through the blog and writes out of excitement from being on a new world. The first box which was shown as a blog introduced the Victoria Crater which was the opportunity ship. The whole point of his blog was to gain the attention and the interest of the audience.
This literature piece was different from the others we have read this week, and caught my attention since it was more recent. It took place in 2006 which was already when computers were excessively used. One reason why I enjoyed it was because it was on my favorite planet. It is also interesting to know that our country has a mars rover that we can operate from here. I would not mind traveling there one day.

"Mother of Triplets Murdered"

"Mother of Triplets Murdered" was written by Dr. Drew on September 14, 2011 on CNN. A young women with triplets went missing one afternoon in Missouri. The mystery was unsolved till yesterday when her husband came clean to the authorities. He had told them that he broke her neck, dug a grave and buried her. His father had asked him why, and his answer was because of rage. Now this man had threatened her many times saying that he would kill her if she got a divorce. He also threatened her by saying he'd kill there kids just to see the look on her face. Even though he is behind bars, the women is still dead, and the children are forced to grow-up without parents.
Some may wonder why this is important in anyway, but people like this exist all over the world, and can be anyone in your life. One must be careful of who he or she trusts, because they never truly know who they are, or what they are capable of. One should not let just anyone come into there life and meet his or her friends without actually understanding what type of person one is. Rage plays a big part in the killers mindset, if one notices that a friend or acquaintance has certain anger issues it does not automatically mean they are dangerous, but there are signs that prove to be so. Therefore one should never trust someone they do not know, or try to associate with ones that show they are violent.

"Obama Challenges Congress on Job Plan"

"Obama Challenges Congress on Job Plan" was written by Mark Lander, and was published Wednesday September 8, 2011, found in New York Times newspaper. Obama introduces his speech by bringing up the crucial issues that discuss about the economic crises that has left an abundant amount of Americans jobless, and a political crises also. He talks about how people do not care about politics and try there best to find jobs for there family. It is an ongoing political crises and they should do something to help the colony, the question is if they can restore everything. He is sending congress a Plan called the American Jobs Act,to improve peoples lives. It is supported by both democrats and republicans, and everything in this bill will be payed for. The purpose is to put people back to work, and to make sure they have money. His plan also includes the rebuilding and reconstructing of schools, to repair and modernize schools, and give jobs to those who need it.
In my opinion this act should be passed by Congress. It is meant for the benefit of all Americans to make sure they can live easier then they are now. Obviously, Americas economic system is in a terrible condition, and with this act it can slowly be resolved. Most Americans are not jobless by choice, but because of force, if this bill passes, will have more latter out of poverty. Congress should pass this bill, to help not only the economic system, but to all Americans who are suffering.

"A Journey Through Texas"

A Journey Through Texas is written by Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca which is about him traveling in Texas, exploring and finding information about the people who live there. Cabeza de Vaca is the speaker in this story that introduces the story in an angry tone. In the beginning of the story, Cabeza and his group of explorers wanted to visit another Indian tribe. The message was taking to long to be delivered, they grew impatient and pretended to be angry, to get the answer sooner. Once they had the approval, Cabeza moved and met the new Indians and was introduced to there culture.
The story takes place in Texas in the year of 1529. The entire purpose of this exploration was to inform others of native life. While visiting these new group of people, Cabeza records it to show the king and queen of Spain to get more money to explore. His information is brief but very interesting and safe, which makes more explorers want to come on to this trip. During the ending of A Journey to Texas, the tone changes from angry to respectful and ends with the explorers eating crops.

My Favorite Book

Night by Elie Wiesel was written in the 1960's and is one of my favorite books. Elie Wiesel wrote about his life in the concentration camps, and how him, his family, and other Jewish characters were tortured. I admire Elie Wiesel for having the strength to write this book after losing everything he had. He went through an abundant amount of pain and suffering and was still able to continue his life and speak the truth about his thoughts and actions. Many few people would have that much strength to go on after seeing children being burned in front of there eyes. In his book he discussed how he lost all his faith in God and gave up on life, I understood why because of the position that he was in. I enjoyed reading this book because it was written by a real person, talking about his real life and how he changed. While reading this book I put myself in his position and knew that I could not go through a day without my family and my friends, and I thank God for having such a safe easy going life.
